I can only say that I am grateful and fortunate to have three bills signed by Governor Hickenlooper into law this year.
HB 1284, the Expand Scope Shared Photovoltaic Facilities bill was signed on May 8, 2015. Just as a reminder, this bill deletes the population requirements for community solar gardens. These projects, which are done by total private investments, are regulated by the Public Utilities Commission (PUC) and locations approved at the local level. This bill allows communities that cannot add solar panels to homes or on roofs to have access to alternative energy sources.
The next two bills will be signed by the Governor on Wednesday, 27 May, at 3:20 p.m. at the Cheyenne Mountain State Park, Prairie Skipper Event Facility, 410 J L Ranch Heights, Colorado Springs, CO 80926.
HB 1026, Reserved Parking Disabled Military License Plates will allow military license plate to have an identifying figure if the applicant has a physical impairment affecting mobility. This bill includes Active-duty service members, Retirees, Reservists, and Colorado National Guard.
HB 1327, Limit Proxy Marriages to Military & Contractors will also be signed on Wednesday. This bill limits proxy marriages to members of the armed forces or a government contractor. It also clarifies that at least one party is a resident of Colorado and all parties are 18 years and older.
