I had a wonderful time with friends at the New Urbanites celebration and breakfast and then joining the car show at the Freedom Financial Center. What a terrific day and I appreciated the dancing and the great folks that were there! Some of the little children were amazing and had all their steps down.

Let’s not forget the car show! It was very interesting and their were competitors from all around the state. I cannot imagine all the work it takes to find the parts and then to restore these cars to these works of art! The food was great and the company was even more fun!

The Cinco de Mayo, Inc, is a great organization formed as a legacy to Bob Armendariz. There are terrific scholarships available there and I invite you to check out their page!  You’ll find this is a great organization and supported by many, many community businesses and organizations. http://www.elcincodemayo.org/index.php/scholarship

A bit of history…. Cinco de Mayo—or the fifth of May—commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War (1861-1867). A relatively minor holiday in Mexico, in the United States Cinco de Mayo has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, particularly in areas with large Mexican-American populations. Cinco de Mayo traditions include parades, mariachi music performances and street festivals in cities and towns across Mexico and the United States.
